I receive a Fatal Error when trying to upgrade WordPress

If you receive a Fatal Error when upgrading WordPress, such as:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function self_admin_url()

This is usually due to the theme you have installed not being supported by the version of WordPress you are trying to upgrade to.

Usually switching to the default WordPress theme and then performing the upgrade and switching back to the theme will work.

For the best method to use to upgrade your WordPress installation, please contact the theme designer for support.
